Job Details
Role: NOC Engineer
Location: Remote
Type of Engagement: Long term Contract
Schedule: US Timezone – EST

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor infrastructure using RMM or NOC tools (e.g., PRTG, Nagios, SolarWinds).
  • Proactively identify performance degradation and respond to incidents.
  • Execute remote troubleshooting and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain and update alerting thresholds and monitoring configurations.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate Tier or Engineering team.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance windows for patching or hardware updates.
  • Maintain detailed shift logs and incident documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for service restoration.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in NOC operations or infrastructure monitoring.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios).
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as ConnectWise or ServiceNow.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with SLA tracking and escalation procedures.
  • Certifications (CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCT/CCNA) are a plus.
  • Excellent focus, time management, and written documentation skills.
  • Experience with shift work and high-availability environments.
